Marked rib centerlines on right wing

 

Aligned top rear skin and drilled and clecoed skin to main spar of right wing

 

Aligned rib center lines and drilled and clecoed skin to the rear ribs of right wing

 

Marked, drilled and clecoed the rear channel to the top rear skin of the right wing

 

Drilled and clecoed the fuel tank rear channel to the top rear skin

 

Countersunk the six rivet holes at the main spar to top rear skin and installed flush rivets

 

Turned right wing over and leveled the wing with a 1”X6” 12’ board holding up the trailing edge

 

Positioned and aligned the lower rear skin

 

Drilled and clecoed the skin to the main spar and rear ribs

 

Used a 1”X6” 10’ long MDF board painted white to help hold the skin flat

 

Drilled and clecoed the fuel tank rear channel to the lower rear skin

 

Made cutout in the inboard lower trailing edge

 

Marked, drilled and filed the 2 slots for the flaperon brackets in the inboard trailing edge

 

Marked, drilled and filed the 3rd slot for the flaperon bracket in the outboard trailing edge

 

Drilled and clecoed the trailing edge to the rear channel and lower rear skin

 

Countersunk the six rivet holes at the main spar to lower rear skin and installed flush rivets

Marked, drilled, aligned and clecoed the 3 false ribs to the bottom rear skin of the right wing

 

Marked, drilled and filed the 4 slots for the slat brackets in the nose skin of the left wing

 

Aligned, drilled and clecoed the nose skin to the bottom of the left wing spar

 

Aligned nose ribs, drilled and clecoed them to the nose skin

 

Used piano hinge wire thru the slat attachment bracket hos to help hold down the nose skin and a 1”X6” MDF board to hold the nose skin flat against the nose ribs

 

Marked, drilled, nibbled and filed the slot for the forward lift strut attachment fitting

 

Laid out rivet pattern for the angle support at the lift strut fitting

 

Drilled and clecoed the angle support and the lift strut fitting

 

Drilled all holes up to size on the bottom rear skin of the right wing

 

Began shaping the jury strut fittings for the right wing

Drilled, shaped and trimmed the jury strut fittings

 

Laid out rivet pattern for jury strut fittings at rib #2

 

Drilled and clecoed on the front and rear jury strut fittings at rib #2

 

Shaped, trimmed and filed the L angles at 4 flaperon attachment arms

 

Cut, filed, drilled and clecoed the 4 flaperon attachment arms to the bottom of the left wing

 

Drilled all the holes on the bottom of the left wing to #30 and clecoed with copper clecos

 

Removed all clecos on the bottom of the wing and deburred the outside edge of the holes

Disassembled bottom of wing, deburred all holes and applied Cortec VCI-373 Wash Primer/Corrosion Inhibitor to all mating surfaces

 

Assembled bottom of wing with clecos

 

Pulled rivets in bottom of wing except along leading edge, front jury strut fitting and forward lift strut angle

Wrapped, drilled and clecoed the nose skin around the nose ribs

 

Drilled and clecoed the top rivet line in the front spar

 

Drilled all holes necessary through the top and nose skins to #40

 

Brought all holes in the top rear skin up to #30

Drilled all remaining holes in nose skin up to size

 

Removed nose skin from wing skeleton

 

Removed cutout in inboard end of nose skin

 

Deburred all remaining holes in nose skin

 

Marked, drilled, aligned and clecoed the 4 false ribs to the top rear skin of the right wing

 

Removed and debureed all holes in the top rear skin

 

Applied Cortec VCI-373 Wash Primer/Corrosion Inhibitor to all mating surfaces of the nose skin and top rear skin

 

Installed and riveted bottom half of nose skin to skeleton

 

Riveted the angle support and lift strut fitting to wing bottom

 

Riveted forward jury strut fitting to bottom of wing

 

Removed top skin cutout inboard of rib #1 and filed the edges smooth

Installed 6 channels on the three side of the fuel tank bay

 

Drilled fuel tank outlet hole in rib #1

 

Drilled fuel tank drain hole in lover wing skin

 

Ran wires for the nav and strobe lights the length of the wing

 

Built wire harness for fuel probe and installed in the wing

 

Installed 2 styroform battans on top of fuel tank

  

Installed finger strainer and nipple for fuel outlet of tank

 

Attached fuel tank ground wire and wing ground wire to #1 rib

 

Cut holes in top wing skin for fuel filler neck and domed access panel

 

Applied Cortec VCI-373 Wash Primer/Corrosion Inhibitor to all mating surfaces on the inside of the top skin and wing skeleton

 

Installed #8 nutplates on domed access panel reinforcement ring

Installed access panel on wing skin

 

Inspected inside of left wing prior to closing up the wing

 

Installed top skin on wing

 

Clecoed nose skin in place

 

Pulled all the rivets on the wing top skin and nose skin

 

Drilled the trailing edge holes and deburred the holes

 

Squeezed all the rivets on the trailing edge

Marked and cut the wing tip curved top skin and bottom skin

 

Fluted the wing tip top and bottom angles and clecoed in place

 

Began the alignment of the fiberglass wing tip panel

 

Trimmed nose skin to proper size

 

Fit and trimmed the wing tip skin and clecoed in place

 

Rolled the edge of the top, bottom, nose and wingtip skin for a better fit

 

Applied Cortec VCI-373 Wash Primer/Corrosion Inhibitor to all mating surfaces on the inside of the top skin and wing skeleton

 

Painted the fiberglass wingtip with gray primer, inside and outside

 

Installed the Nav/Strobe light head on the fiberglass wingtip

 

Riveted wingtip top and bottom angles to the skin

 

Built an access panel and reinforcing plate for the panel to go on the wingtip skin

Applied Cortec VCI-373 Wash Primer/Corrosion Inhibitor to all mating surfaces on the inside of the wing tip skin and access panel

 

Installed the access panel and reinforcing plate for the panel to on the wingtip skin

 

Ran the electrical wires to the strobe power supply and the nav light

 

Tested the strobe and nav lights for operation, both work fine

 

Secured all wires in the wingtip bay

 

Rolled the edge of the wingtip skin for a better fit

 

Riveted wingtip to top and bottom angles

 

Predrilled holes for wing root skin

 

Measured and laid out the wing root skin pattern

 

Began drilling and clecoing wing root skin in place

 

Finished drilling and clecoing wing root skin in place

 

Drilled all wing root skin holes up to size

 

Applied Cortec VCI-373 Wash Primer/Corrosion Inhibitor to all mating surfaces on the inside of the wing root skin wing skeleton
